    Review books provided by USUHS?

Hi, welcome to USUHS! You won't be issued review books at USUHS, but you will be issued a lot of textbooks that you won't ever read... Since you will start out with biochem and anatomy, you won't need anything right away. The biochem notes and old tests are the only way to...

    Admittances WITHOUT pre-med committee letter

My school doesn't have a committee or letter maageing service, so i just got a few profs to send letters for me. I also included a letter with my secondaries explaining that my school's situation and who to expect letters from. didn't seem to be a problem.

    Another try

well, most schools will send you a secondary regardless of your MCAT. But it seemed to me that most said that they wouldn't consider an application until it was determined "complete," meaning that all secondary materials, letters, etc. were in, including your final MCAT scores. so, if you...

    Transferring Medical Schools

One of the PI's who works in a lab next to mine transfered from UCSF to Hopkins. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> Yeah, it was after her second year, and I believe because her husband was doing a residency there.

lower tier schools in safe areas

Yeah, Hahnemann is in a pretty decent part of Philly, but still in a city. Look at Albany Med and Chicago Med, both pretty far from cities.

I'm waitlisted, and they said that I'm on the upper-third of the list. Still haven't heard anything though.

    EVMS vs. GW??

GW.... national reputation? huh? I think that both schools are great, and congrats on getting acceptances, but neither has a particularly profound reputation. I would personally go to EVMS because I loved it there, and I'm not even in-state. If you liked one much better than the other...

    # of SDNers/ # of applicants

I also found SDN from a post on interviewfeedback.com. I'm sure glad that website was up and running while I was interviewing, but unfortuinately I didn't find SDN until I was just about finished. I would guess that approximately 10% of applicants have some expereince with this site, but...

Any Pre-Meds here ever work as Nurses Aides?

Premeditate, welcome to SDN! I like the screen name, much more creative than mine. :) I don't think that being an EMT would make you unique, but I still think that it's a cool thing to do. It should expose you to real situations in medicine, and give you a better idea what this is all...
