    UCSD Advice

p.p.s. -- Is the color of every1's skin really that important? I think racial diversity is really overrated. Much more important in my opinion is the diversity of thought, beliefs, values, etc. A portugese farmer and a portugese banker might have completely different states of mind, but yet...

Help! I'm entering college this fall..which college: Umich, Northwestern, or UCSB?!?!

UCSB is actually ranked in the top50 of universities nationwide (just looked it up -- #48, tied with U. Texas), but it has near zero name recognition I guess because it is overshadowed by the five more presitigious UC's. I know some people will disagree with me, but unfortunately reputation...

SLU Rescinds Acceptance to Hearing Impaired Student

Man, SLU knew that she couldn't hear when they admitted her earlier this year, and only NOW take the acceptance away? That's lame. I personally hate frivolous lawsuits, but that's not the situation here. She's got a legitimate case and I hope she sues the pants off SLU.

    UCSD housing

Yeah I agree craigslist is really useful in no.cali. didn't try it for san diego tho, but did notice that it has way fewer listings. anyways, there's 3 main things I looked at: the off-campus housing office listings, the classified listings of the 2 sd newspapers (they have listings online)...

Official UCSD Countdown Thread, former "I'm in, UCSD,.."

Hi MD4real, sure -- no problem. Okay, well this is a pretty difficult question to answer because a. each case is different from another, and b. who really knows what the f.a. office does to come up with its numbers -- I only know what I know through experience :) but some things that may...

md4real -- Most if it is just based off your financial need (more if you are poor, less if you are rich). There are also a bunch of scholarships (like 20-30 or so) that UCSD gives out each year to its students, so that helps a lot. caligurl -- good luck at whatever med school you ended up in...

    UCSD housing

wow! much better, darwin. Thanks for the heads-up (and the directions!) may I ask, what made you settle on the $900 studio in UTC? Was there nothing cheaper or did you just want to be conveniently close to the campus? I was looking at the classifieds last night and looks like the lowest...
