am i too Late to Scramble?

you can scramble, i think. i am pretty sure that you don't need all of your scores to do it, in fact. the question is whether a program will scramble you without them...i personally doubt it, but i could be wrong. regardless, you will be eligible for a job in july, provided you pass...

Deciding between smaller vs larger programs...

is a program with 15 residents really considered small???? that blows my mind. my program (ob/gyn) has 3 per year. the biggest i interviewed with had 8!

Is OBGYN for me?? Your honest opinions, please!

i agree that it is possible to do well in FP. but, my point is more that in Ob/Gyn you have the opportunity to do primary care (FP, but just for women) coupled with a LOT more procedures that any FP is going to do, for the same amount of training. i don't see the benefit to doing FP + OB, unless...

Is OBGYN for me?? Your honest opinions, please!

i never said they make a lot...just that if you do FP/OB it is a four year residency, and you make a lot less going that route than Ob/gyn. as for averages, i have heard all different stories. but, i think it is safe to say 150K plus should be easy to find. to me, that is more than enough.

Anybody choose a specialty because they can't stand death?

amen. the relative lack of chronic sickers, and the immense joy surrounding most babies being born was a huge reason for my choice as well. after IM, i just wanted to see somebody who was healthy or who was gonna get better. one downside is that the deaths and poor outcomes are a bit tougher...

Tried to sleep, couldn't, panicked, paid the extra dough

no worries, poety! if you look at it in terms of the big pic, an extra $150 is nuttin. just enjoy the extra peace of mind you have, relax a bit, sleep well and then take the stupid exam. you will nail it, no reason to worry. but it is a great idea to make sure that you don't give yourself...
