birdie i don't think you will be at a disadvantage, if crieghton is pass/fail, then don't worry about grades and spend your time in the lab. lots of top med schools don't have grades (P/F)or rank their students like harvard, stanford, yale...and their students certainly do match.

go to a decent, cheap school and do research in radiology. that will help you no matter what school you go to.

UCSB premed.... all of the UCs are good. some have better opportunities than others. i don't think you know enough about my school either.

well i disagree quagmire. my roomates had such a hard time at UCD after tranferring from UCSB where academics were "easier". even UCSB faculty that i interviewed hinted at it. i think UCSD and UCD are similiar in academics also. having a medical center is very useful and the town of davis...

there is a difference when it comes to academics between UCD and UCSB. the better UCs are UCLA, UCB, UCD, and UCSD. so i don't know why you people are confused on that point. i would certainly go to UCD over UCSB if my idiot roomates who transferred from UCSB are any indiction of that school...

pass out. i did, a bunch of my classmates did also. freed up time for more important things. biochem is not that huge on the boards anyways and it is easy enough that you can teach yourself.

i think you will have better opportunities at Wash U. i would go there if i was you.

i got rejected from all of the SO cal schools including USC. i had good extracurriculars, but average MCAT and GPA (3.7 and 30). not good enough apparently. not sure how they do it at UC schools. eventually, I interviewed at 4 top ten schools and was accepted to two of them, waitlisted at one...

harvard and jhu have very very different curriculums. harvard is almost all problem based. that is a very tough choice. i don't know what i would have done.

definitely do what you love. you will be surprised at how better you will be at keeping committments for things you love. adcoms appreciate that too.

i would say to do research- try to get fellowships, present it at student conferences, publish it in student journals. some type of work abroad- any amount of time works, and it doesn't have to be health related do something with long term critically/chronically ill people like at residential...
