There is no such thing as "guaranteed" in science. That's the whole idea about science: discovery....either you discover it or not. If you don't, then there's no paper.....so, don't work in the lab because you're pretty sure you'll get a paper out of it. Work in the lab because you'll enjoy...

If I were you (and I wish I was, LOL! :D ) I would choose Harvard, because the type of curriculum is really important to me. UW and Harvard are on opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of how they teach (as you know: UW is HEAVY lecture, Harvard is all PBL and small-groups). I prefer H's...
