Bowdoinguy,
I was on the infinite hold list last year and made the effort to write to VCU several times throughout the spring. I kept them updated on my interest in the school and my latest activities/achievements. I don't know how much the letters played into it, but I got my e-acceptance...
Interview at MCV or EVMS? Good luck either way!
EVMS was hands down the most difficult interview I had. The questions went into a little more depth than I was prepared to discuss on ethics and healthcare reform type topics. They also had 2-3 interviewers per student.

I'm dissappointed to hear you think MCV is so much inferior to UVA and furthermore that just because our standardized patients come from EVMS that they are also better than us. MCV is a great school with a ton of excellent opportunities to offer. I am not saying anything against the other...
Congrats on your acceptances! Both are good schools. I go to MCV...if you have any q's about it I can try to answer them...just PM me anytime. The block scheduling is very nice and the early patient contact wonderful. We also have a lot of extracurricalar oppurtunities and electives and such...
I'm also a first year at MCV! I agree w/ everything eagles has said. The block schedule is great! I've heard nothing but good stuff about our board prep, in fact I've heard noone even bothers w/ private review courses, cuz we have an advisor for it all who is top notch! I really like it here...

I'm going to Israel! I'll be working 40 hrs a week, but my sister is planning to take me around the country on my days off. She is going to introduce me to some of our relatives there as well as her friends she's met throughout the country. And, right before I leave, we are going to trek down...
