i had a great semester with the guy and he was the only PBK professor I had, he even wrote an LOR for my app...so it was an easy judgement

agreed, professors on my school's board were not science profs, and i was elected by a history professor

i can validate that students elected to PBK in junior year can vote the senior class, and elect members (but only during the vote and elections must get almost unanimous support)

don't lose sight of the remarkable skills a physician has. if the world were to collapse, people would still need a physician's skills (that alone should make anyone feel great to be a doctor)

i use a tablet (non-Pad to save $$$) all i use it for is reading ebooks and it's good, not perfect. You can't replace the feel of a textbook and the ease of turning pages, but lugging 4-5 texts is reason enough to switch.

There are loan forgiveness programs offered by the gov't for students entering primary care, but I suppose the pay in general is still unattractive when accounting for training time

if you're worried about debt, which most are, your first thought should be "is this really for me?" but to be quite honest, debt is a small factor...in fact I hardly think about it (but keep making interest payments ;) ) also, go for the lowest cost school to attend

i would say the best skill is to drop everything and go to bed when you can...pay off that sleep debt (it's all we can pay) :thumbup:

you basically have to wait for 0% APR applications to be mailed to you in my experience (which for me wasn't often, and if they did, i didn't qualify), then I would use your loan money as income

yeah i agree: friends, better pay (relatively), and hometown...research is research is research...to me at least

not sure the extent of the "use" of students, but this is not uncommon I have been involved in projects where students gather all the data, with no name mention I am sure they are willing to write LORs? No? Get what you can out of the experience or don't do it
