The most commonly asked interview questions at medical schools include inquiries about the motivation for choosing pharmacy, personal characteristics of a pharmacist, reasons for pursuing the profession, and qualities that make a good candidate. The interviews seem to involve a casual introduction sharing a personal fact, with some mentioning a lack of recollection possibly due to the MMI format and nondisclosure agreements being in place.

How did you prepare for the interview?
Applicants commonly prepared for the interview by practicing with family members, seeking advice from online resources like Student Doctor Network (SDN), and focusing on being authentic with honest answers. It is recommended to engage in mock interviews, gather insights from platforms like SDN, and remain true to oneself during the interview process.
Applicants were positively impressed by the comfortable and honest atmosphere of the school, the affordable in-state tuition, and the ease of residency opportunities. They also appreciated the small class sizes, the welcoming environment, and the personalized attention from the dean about the program and the pharmacy profession. Additionally, they found the school's organization and location on the main campus in Oxford to be impressive.
I felt extremely comfortable at the school and felt like they were very honest and straight forward about the profession and the school. The in-state tuition is extremely economical, and the opportunity for residency seems easier than I expected.
There was a lot that impressed me. I was impressed by how much the dean raved about the program and that he really took the time to get to know us and explain not only Ole MIss' pharmacy program to us, but the pharmacy profession in general. I was also impressed by how cheap off-campus living would have been.
Applicants commonly expressed dissatisfaction with lack of information or clarity about the program schedule and potential location changes for rotations. Additionally, some applicants found the interview process too lengthy and uninformative, suggesting the need for more meaningful interactions and better communication during the process.
Nothing. Best school I have interviewed at so far :)
I didn't like the idea of having to move to jackson for the third year and then possibly moving again for the fourth year for rotations (though they did have several locations for those rotations that were nice)
The interview process was way too long. 8 hours without even speaking to anyone as a formal interview. The logic test was also annoying. The students that toured the group were only P1 which wasn't enough to get to know the whole program.
Applicants commonly wished they had known about missing classes ahead of time to avoid scrambling for alternative options, and that more information and guidance from the program could have helped them plan better. Additionally, some applicants mentioned a practical concern of wishing they had known about parking regulations to avoid getting a ticket.
I wished I had known about the classes I was missing before the start of the spring semester so I wouldn't have to scramble for summer school classes. But they were helpful in giving me a list of schools offering the classes I needed online during the summer.
Applicants generally expressed strong admiration for the school and its staff, highlighting the positive experience and the willingness of the institution to work with prospective students. Some applicants also mentioned specific aspects like the admissions process being favorable for those meeting requirements and shared concerns about aspects of the interview process.
I absolutely love this school...If i don't get in this year i will definitely apply again next year. Do not mind moving from texas at all!!! If I had to chose between a Texas school or Ole Miss, I would take Ole Miss without a doubt! They really work with you and try to help you as much as they can.
2010 is special for Ole Miss admissions; they did not get many applications, therefore if you have the minimum GPA/PCAT AND have taken all of THEIR required prereqs, you're basically in. They aren't going to have a full class this year, which would have had many advantages. I really wish I had been admitted.
I felt positively about the school even though the interview was extremely long. Do they really need to take pictures and measure white coats for everyone even though 75% of their applicants will be rejected? Also to talk about being professional and not cheating for an hour and a half was discouraging.
What are your suggestions for the admissions office?
Applicants commonly suggest that the admissions office improve communication regarding missing prerequisites and provide clearer information about events like Applicant Day. Additionally, some applicants noted the need for better climate control in buildings.
The admissions office was very quick to respond. I just wish I would have known I was missing 2 classes before the spring semester started, but they were very helpful in giving me courses offered online by schools across the nation.
Tell students the prereqs they are missing. I was unaware I was missing so many and this costed me my admission to the school.
Also, they should give more information as to what exactly Applicant Day will entain. I am from FL, so trying to make flight/hotel accomodations were really hard to make because I never had information as to when I needed to be there and when I would be leaving.
