The Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) is a private, for-profit medical school established in 2013. Its main campus is located on the New Mexico State University campus in Las Cruces, New Mexico, with a second campus at the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida. BCOM is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association's Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) and achieved the highest accreditation status of "Accreditation with Exceptional Outcome" in April 2024. The college welcomed its inaugural class in 2016 and graduated its first class in May 2020.
BCOM offers a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree program. The first two years focus on classroom-based learning, while the third and fourth years involve clinical clerkships at various sites, including Las Cruces, Albuquerque, Eastern New Mexico, El Paso, Texas, and Tucson, Arizona. Additional clerkship sites include the Four Corners region and Melbourne, Florida.
The main campus in Las Cruces features an 80,000-square-foot, three-story building located in the Arrowhead Research Park on the NMSU campus. Facilities include small and large classrooms, group study pods, outdoor courtyards, laboratories, a medical library, and a simulation center.
