✅ Interview Preparation and Impressions

How is the responsiveness of the admissions office?

How did you prepare for the interview?

SDN, School packet, students, other basic Med. school books (PR).

What impressed you positively?

The facilities were fantastic. I would challenge anybody to find better facilities anywhere (MD or DO). It was a great campus with a nice faculty (the dean was wonderful and motivating) Did I mention the place was nice? Dolphin training camp. Other interviewees. They were great and made the day a little better. Good luck guys.

What impressed you negatively?

The large multitude of students and cars. Reminded me of my undergrad. Interviewers could have been a little nicer and, you know, at least act like your paying attention and give a damn (at least pretend a little?). The "bad cop" interviewer, come on, the day is nerve-racking enough).

What did you wish you had known ahead of time?

They inform you that you need a letter from a DO (but tell you later that a MD is acceptable). Only to find out DURING the interview that you NEED a letter for a DO. Do the initials D.O. or M.D. really differ that much? Can't we just all get along? I hope my M.D. is good enough because that is all they are going to get.

What are your general comments?

The interview itself basically sucked. I am a very open individual and I wanted the interview to be somewhat conversational, but it wasn't. They would ask me a very broad question (tell me about yourself) and then look down at their paper looking for the next question (basically I was talking to the wall) and that was hard. While I was talking with two of the individuals, the other (bad cop) was feverishly scanning through my packet looking for something to grill me on. I knew that when if way his turn, I was dead. And that is basically what happend. He owned me, and I liked it. The situation about the letters also bugged me. When I called, they informed me that they would prefer a letter from a DO but a MD would be acceptable. However, they informed me IN my interview that I needed a DO letter STAT. O.K.? Overall, I loved the school. The dean was wonderful as were the facilities. I am looking forward to that letter soon (rejection after they read this). It is definately one of my top choices. Enjoy the day and the great campus, and watch out for the bad cop. He will own you.
