What are your general comments?

It was my second interview there - I had one last year (yes, I'm one of those!), so I new quite well what to expect. Just be yourself, show some personality, break out the smiles and the humor. The interview is goes like this: 1 student + 1 clinician + 1 other faculty --> candidate (you). Only one person is on the committee, and that person knows your stats/scores.
💬 Interview Process

What is one of the specific questions they asked you?

Why do you want to be a physician? Why EVMS? Talk about your exposure to medicine. What can you bring to EVMS that is unique?

What was the most interesting question?

Do you treat a terminally-ill woman who requires palliative care but is uninsured, and all expenses (high) will go to her family?

How did you prepare for the interview?

Mock interviews, compiled a list of questions from this site, read articles about national health care issues.

What was the most difficult question?

What do you think about concierge medicine?

What impressed you positively?

The standardized patient program demonstration at the beginning of the day is pretty cool - don't worry yourself so much about volunteering for it!

What impressed you negatively?

Really the only drawback to the school is that it doesn't have an undergrad arts & sciences campus associated with it. There are only 2 small shelves in the library dedicated to recreational reading.

What did you wish you had known ahead of time?

Don't stress so much about all of the issues with national health care. They will probably ask you about it, but not about the specifics - just have an opinion.
