What was the most interesting question?
Why make the switch from business to dentistry?
How did you prepare for the interview?
Toured the school, talked with an alum, thought seriously about what I need a school to offer in order for me to be successful there.
What impressed you positively?
Admissions staff sincere interest in me as a dental applicant, not simply me as a UMDNJ dental applicant.
What impressed you negatively?
3rd year students who accompanied us at lunch came solely for the free meal, not to be of any constructive service. The only exception was a guy named Tal. He took the opportunity seriously and fielded our questions. The others were distraction and embarrassed themselves.
What did you wish you had known ahead of time?
How warm and inviting the school atmosphere would be. And, I prepared for every interview question under the sun only to face none of them. It was very informal and, consequently, honest.
