What are the facilities and clinics like (old/new, well maintained, etc.)?
How do students from this program do after graduation - are they adequately prepared for practice?
-
I felt incredibly well prepared for residency, ended up being selected for a chief position, and now going into the fellowship of my dreams.
-
From what I have heard, students feel adequately prepared entering intern year.
-
First class hasn't graduated; prospects for residency look amazing
What are rotations like?
-
Rotations are primarily where you are working directly with attendings in lieu of being with groups of residents, this allows for direct mentorship opportunities.
-
Most are rural with a couple metropolitan options. The rotation sites near LUCOM seem fine. Everyone who rotates at one of the out of state sites raves about it. Most of these sites are very rural, but students learn a lot because of how hands on their preceptors allow them to be.

How do students from this program do in the Match?
-
If you worked hard during medical school, any door will be open for you
-
Above average for a DO program, but still mostly FM/IM. Most of the 4th years I knew last year matched their top choice with a couple matching top 5.
Any other information you want to share?
-
I am very glad with my decision to attend LUCOM, and the overall mental health of my peers seems better than my peers at other schools.

(Spring 2017) It's a relatively new school and undergoing the usual growing pains, but, as an institution, it's also listening to its students to continue to improve for successive years
