What is one of the specific questions they asked you (question 1)?

"A patient comes in to see a doctor for a smoking-related lung illness for the third time, and it's clear that he's not been in compliance with the doctor's suggestions. The doctor looks at him and says "I've seen you three times and you've never done what I've told you to. You're probably going to die of this. I don't want to see you in here again, because I have other patients who will be compliant with whom I can better spend my time." What is your response to this exchange?" How did you prepare for the interview?

"Duluth's web site has been in less than full swing for some time now, and few interview feedback postings for Duluth appear on SDN. I spent the car ride up thinking about the various aspects of rural medicine and how I could best address rural health concerns in MN. That turned out to be quite useful." Report Response

What impressed you positively?

"Susan Christiansen, Dr. Day and Dr. Stouffer were all very friendly and informative. " Report Response

What impressed you negatively?

"The student tour guide. " Report Response

What did you wish you had known ahead of time?

"There are no other established allied health professional schools at Duluth. I found it difficult to believe that a solid educational foundation could be laid in a context devoid of professionals and students from pharmacy, PT, nursing, social work, etc. -- they all go hand in hand, and the education in a vaccuum idea rubbed me the wrong way."
