Hi eveyone,
What would be the most appropriate and professional way for me to refer a patient who uses sign language and is deaf in my application?
Thanks!

The terms deaf or hard of hearing are fine and appropriate in professional settings. For example, the certifiying organization for ASL interpreters is called the "Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf".

However, consider using "people first" language, like "people with hearing disabilities" vs deaf or hard of hearing. People First Language | odr
