PGY-1 General Practice Dental Resident

Stipend Position
Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH) offers a comprehensive one-year residency program in dentistry, accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). Designed to cultivate essential clinical skills, judgment, and abilities, the program encompasses all facets of dentistry, including care for patients with diverse medical, physical, and intellectual needs within a hospital setting. Residents engage in a wide range of experiences, from restorative dentistry and oral surgery in the operating room to rotations in various hospital departments such as Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, and Emergency Medicine. Additionally, they spend time in YNHH's Pediatric Dental Department and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery unit. The program provides ample opportunities for residents to expand their expertise in disciplines like implant dentistry, prosthodontics, esthetic dentistry, and advanced pain management techniques. Complementing clinical training are lectures, seminars, and conferences throughout the year, fostering collaboration between dental and medical specialists. With 80% of their time dedicated to hands-on dental care, residents also benefit from non-clinical didactic experiences and medical rotations, ensuring a well-rounded education in dentistry.
