- Clear understanding of what a career in medicine entails (the good and the bad!)
- Demonstrated commitment to the profession
- Fortitude necessary to make it through medical school, residency training, and a future career
- Willingness/ability to contribute to the medical school community
- Fit with student body, faculty, and staff
- Unique or diverse elements that you will add or contribute to the student body
- Consistency between application and interview
- Responses to any red flags that have arisen during the admissions process; you should cover these points with explanations, not excuses
