Hey everyone, anyone know what is an okay hourly rate (per diem) for as needed shift work for outpatient or inpatient consults in the north east area (big city)? Being offered $150 - 170 / hour at a large hospital system but I feel this is low and want to negotiate. I feel like it should at least be minimum $200 but wanted to see what you guys thought.

Thanks for your insight :)

200+ per hour in the northeast
The range you’re being quoted is an outlier

Thank you very much. Definitely being low-balled then. Appreciate it.

If you are w2 part time then 200 may be acceptable. if you are 1099 you need more. It depends a lot on the “big city” though because DC is not NY is not philly is not providence and definitely is not boston
