Hi all!

I've narrowed down my choice to two but am really stuck here! Both have great match percentages (100% for VT and 99.9% for VCU in 2017). While Virginia Tech is still newer, they are still ranked in the same realm as VCU (although I think VCU may be slightly higher? not focusing on ranking too much).

**My residency is New Jersey so I am OOS**

VTECH
PROS
-15K for M1, 5K for each subsequent year
-42 students (individualized attention)
-mandatory research

CONS
-Roanoke is remote - hard for transportation and not as much to do
-might get tired of such a small class?
-only 1 away rotation

VCU
PROS
-slightly higher ranking
-Richmond has more to do
-no maximum # of away rotations (I would like to do as many as possible in San Diego - hopefully to pursue a residency there)

CONS
-no scholarship
-somewhat scared of such a large class

My ideal class size was around 120 so both of these schools are at the opposite end of the spectrum!!
Other than that, I'm not sure if there are any grave differences. I would love to get some input!!

If you are interested in research or any academic medicine positions in your future, the resources for you at VT are going to be unparalleled. They really give a **** about their small group of students.

That being said, Roanoke sucks.
