    Downstate tuition

Even though each tuition increase has to be ratified by the state legislature each year it looks like all four installments wont be meeting much resistance.... at least that's my impression. I'm very surprised that prospective students at Downstate weren't notified. What's the point of delaying...

    What's everyone doing this summer?

I was thinking about Italy too, but the powers that be decided on Paris.... not that I'm complaining :D . Hopefully I passed histology though...it'd screw things up pretty badly if I didn't. •••quote:••<font...

    What's everyone doing this summer?

Recently finished MS1ers  what are you guys doing for the summer? I'm going to work in an immunology lab for most of the summer and I'm planning for a week long trip to Paris. I'm not sure I'd have the time or the...

    M.Sc. before MD/PhD?

I'm not an MD/PhD, but how would doing a Masters decrease your time for completing a Doctorate? Decreased time spent in rotating through labs/searching an area of interest? Would you be looking to commit to the same lab for your PhD if you like the lab? Just curious.

Any MD/PhDs who applied for the PhD during medical school?

My school isn't MSTP funded and this year my school has more MD/PhD students than they've had typically. I've always been interested in research but I had my doubts. I was involved in a dead-end project for undergrad honors research under the supervision of a horrible advisor. I'll be doing...

Any MD/PhDs who applied for the PhD during medical school?

Are there any medical students out there who applied for a PhD during their first or second year of medical school? How was your experience? Hmmm maybe this should be posted in the allopathic forum, but it may get more attention here.

    Question for MS2s....

Thanks for the input. I did know that second year is more clinically relevant. Perhaps, I should have rephrased my question. What I meant was if the physiology that is reviewed in the second year is more relevant than other aspects that are not reviewed. Sort of an indirect way of asking if all...

    Question for MS2s....

I found out that that the physio and neuro that you learn in first year is taught over during second year for pathophys, path, and pharmacology albeit briefly... any truth to this? And from what I heard, the things that are reviewed and taught during second year is more clinically relevant and...

First Year Anatomy Books for All Med Schools?

Hi Judy, I have some anatomy books that I want to get rid of. Are you looking for textbooks, atlases, or both? We used the Snell's Clinical Anatomy text. I'm not sure if it is universally used and I honestly didn't have much use for it (a little highliting here and there). I also have the...
