Do you get a letter when waitlist ends?

I don't think they do, though. :( A last glimmer of hope: some schools actually take people as late as 1 week into school, so you've still got a small chance at getting in. If I were you, I'd visit the Admissions Office and ask for whomever is in charge and come up with a VERY convincing...

USC incoming MS1s... has your big sib called you yet?

Thanks for the info. Anyway, how long does the BBQ last? I hear that it begins at noon, so what time can I expect to take off? I'd love to stick around to meet some fellow MS1ers, but I might have to meet somebody in the afternoon.

    Bikini Princess

I wonder if one of the reasons contributing to her popularity is the fact that her SDN handle begins with "bikini."

is it ok to put high school stuff

If it says "post-secondary experiences," then they want stuff you did AFTER high school. If not, well, I suppose it's still implied.

USC incoming MS1s... has your big sib called you yet?

I called the Student Affairs Office last week to ask about the BBQ, and Rena(?) told me that our MS2 big sibs would call us to give us details and the like. Well, the event is 2 days away, and still no phone call... :( Am I alone here? Because I certainly don't want to be alone on Wed.

    Ethical Dilemmas

Think hard, I'm sure you've been in many real ethical dilemmas. If not, then you must've lived a sheltered life.

USC-- where are you going to park?

Mike, Thanks. But again, which one is Lot 71? I keep on thinking it's the one right behind KAM, but you mentioned a long walk, so I was obviously wrong. What cross streets is 71 located in? And how much is it per month/semester? Thanks again.

USC-- where are you going to park?

SCIronMike, What about the free lot that the above posters mentioned? The one on Marengo near State St... do any students park there? Is it really free?

    OSU Med Secondary

It's funny how when I did the OSU secondary last year, I didn't even consider that there would be overlap, but after reading the question over again, I feel differently. Anyway, my personal statement was about ONE aspect of my desire to go into medicine. I attacked it from all angles. For the...

    Mailing Secondary Apps

For the ones that were only one or two sheets, I put them in a standard #10 envelope. More than a couple pages, I folded the pages ONCE and put them in a yellow envelope (probably 6"x9"). Some schools last year requested that I also print out my AMCAS and mail that to them, and for those, I used...

    USC Secondary Question

Think HARD. What people might be "underrepresented" or "underserved" mean? I think the key is how you interpret those two terms.

    Weight issues when interviewing

Nope. Unless something changed in the past week or so, I'm positive that you can buy a Snickers at the market without sales tax. There was a period when snacks were taxed in CA about 8 years ago or so , but that passed after a few years. I remember because that small bag of chips I bought...

    Competitive Residencies

It's so ridiculous that so many pre-meds and med students still deny it, and then apply to dermatology. Seriously, is ANYBODY so interested in people's skin that they want to dedicate their career to looking at acne and hair loss? Perhaps I'm still in the "Patch Adams" phase, because I still...

    Weight issues when interviewing

So that's what it is like in NYC, eh? Here in CA, Pringles, candy bars, or any other junk food you buy at a supermarket isn't taxed. Fast food restaurants, however, do charge sales tax, but it's pretty obvious that 8.25% tax isn't going to stop anybody from eating at McDonald's.
