I applied to most of the 'less popular' community programs in the midwest, south, and northeast with a Step 1/2 of 204/220 and I did not match. I was a senior US allopathic applicant.

I was just accepted off the waitlist today. Apparantly I was in the top third, and as of now, that is where I will be going in the fall. I guess I can't give much advice about getting off of the waitlist.. I sent updated transcripts but that's about it.

Good question. It's a state school, supported by Michigan taxpayers, to train out-of-state students. I am very biased being a Spartan, but that's just another thing I can't stand about UMich.

Cincinnati didn't have any essays this year, but I have heard they normally do.

Anyone know any more good strategies to get off the OSU waitlist? So far I have sent a letter of intent, updated transcripts, and some other updates to my application. It's getting late and I think my chances are dwindling fast.

Yep, I applied to Wright State and haven't heard anything. Last thing I got was a postcard saying my file is complete. I assume I'm rejected since I haven't been offered an interview and it seems bit late in the season! Tell me if you hear anything.

Although I didn't apply there, I remember people complaining about Rush's secondary... apparantly 14 questions or so.
