Ok, here's my current pile. Yesterday was a bad day at work, so I didn't get a chance to read any essays and make comments.

The nursing supervisor on the family birth unit decided to order serum glucoses instead of accuchecks. So instead of a quick little poke (0.1 mm wide, .25 mm deep) done by the nursing staff, I have to go up and use our heelsticks (2.5mm wide, 1.0mm deep) to get enough blood for a serum glucose. There's also the issue of it costing to the patient about 40 bucks for each serum test versus a free accucheck.

Then the ER loaded up on patients. One of them decided to code. I didn't have to draw any blood from her cause the doc was focused on just starting her breathing again. I did have to draw blood cultures x2 on a patient with impossible veins. Why did I know they were impossible? Cause I had to draw her blood before.
