Damn also got the pre-ii R in-state. I’m hurt lol
+1. I was really hoping for some love from Western. Does anyone know if yield protection might be a thing here? This was the closest school to my home but my stats were above their averages :(

Do any current students remember what the first day of school was like for first year? Were there required classes all day or was it more relaxed/intro to everything?
So your first week on campus will be a welcome week which is a week long orientation type week where you will only have a couple review modules that go over basic biochem etc but no true testable curriculum being delivered. You also have a variety of social events, some optional some mandatory, where you have a chance to meet and interact with faculty advisors, your 2nd year companion, and other students of course! Youll get tons of advice from second years about their struggles and successes. Theres also some logistical type meetings where they will help get you familiar with the variety of on campus resources we have etc.

The first week of true curriculum comes directly after welcome week. If I recall correctly, this is a more heavy in person week with probably 3 longer in person days. You will probably have a couple mandatory in person lectures in the AM, then OMM or CMR in the afternoon for your first day. Anatomy also begins week 1, youll prob have your first session either tuesday or wednesday. they really throw you right into it lol no time is wasted in med school

i received an email asking if i wanted to remain on the waitlist (i’m still confused on the waitlist vs alternate list thing but i believe i was on the one with priority), and i declined since i have an A elsewhere. best of luck to everybody!

the email said they are offering spots to people off the waitlist in order of interview date? is that true?
not sure if this is true. i am waitlisted still but interviewed early jan...

I'll call their office soon but my letter says WL and not alternate so I'm confused why it seems like i was skipped

Please let us know what they say! But I think the “order of interview date” is not true. Based on people getting off waitlist, it doesn’t seem to be in order of interview date.

I interviewed late March and got off the waitlist this past week. I called the office of admissions twice in the morning around 9am but no one answered. I left a voicemail mentioning my name and that I’m an applicant on the waitlist who is still very interested in attending Western and I requested a callback if they are available. Received the A later that evening. I highly encourage waitlist applicants to try calling! I didn’t think it would work and I was very surprised to receive the A the same day I left the voicemail :) good luck to everyone!

It’s okie! Appreciate it regardless. Confrontation is scary 😂 But yeah, I think the interview thing is definitely misleading.

like if im get off WL at westernu and really wanna go there but I've already deposited and started stuff with another school how long do I have to withdraw from them? i cant find info on this anywhere, to make sure I make the right decesion

From what I understand AACOMAS notified schools if you have multiple acceptances starting May 1st. So schools would probably individually reach out to you to ask you withdraw from other acceptances. I think it’s dependent on the school as to when they ask you about it.

Did you just call Western Us general phone number where they transfer you to admissions or is there a special number to call? There was a number they gave me in my WL letter but it says it was out of service

Did anyone do this who’s in the AL list? I called this morning as well but no one answered so I left a voicemail instead. Did you call the general admissions office number (909) 469-5335? Or a specific counselor?

Yeah fr who are you guys calling? I called the number on my waitlist letter and got no answer a few times. I called the accepted DO counselor many times and she didn’t really say anything. Is there a special number I’m missing lmao?

i called their admissions office and they transferred me to my admissions counselor

I call admissions today. They really couldn’t give me a definitive answer on when more WL movement starts. But for people worried about deposit deadlines they told me they give us two weeks to place one down. Could people who recently got accepted confirm?

i was given 7 days
