    UWash or USC-Keck?

Well I'm a third year too, and I'd say that we are all well-motivated, just not at the expense of others. The student population at Keck for the most part is a very well-balanced, well-adjusted, happy group of excellent students. And you can't beat the County hospital; that's what brought me here.

the first 2005 clerkship anxiety thread

Your personality is extremely important depending on what residents you get teamed up with. Some of them will absolutely not give honors to anyone they don't adore. It's nice to know your book learning, but I think being a great people person will probably get you just as far with clerkship...

20% sounds good... that's about how many out-of-staters there are in my MDL.

    usc turnaround

Yeah what time you leave makes a difference. Class is almost always going to be at 8 so you wouldn't have to worry about the heavy 8am traffic. I try to get out by 7 when traffic is still light. That gets me to school around 7:30 and leaves me plenty of time to find parking and get to class...

    usc turnaround

I would venture to say there are more than just 3 good places to live around USC. You really don't need to be within 2 miles of campus. I live about 15 miles out (westside) and have no problem commuting each day (less than 30 minutes). So I think you can settle pretty much anywhere in Los...

    USC Early Admissions

Well I for one still hate U$C football as much as I ever did, despite going to med school at KECK now :). Supporting them doesn't come with the territory.

    USC or UCI matchlist anyone?

At the end of last year's admissions cycle I was deciding between UCI and USC and was wondering the same thing as you. I had copies of both lists, and they are similar and both pretty impressive. That being said, I thought USCs looked slightly better, at least for the surgical subspecialties I...

I thought that the "tuition" was covered by the state and CA residents only had to pay ~$9500 in "additional fees". Hell even at $25000 it would be a lot cheaper than USC. Well, still don't know which to choose... gotta call UCI back soon though.

USC-- who's going on the Probe & Compass trip?

I didn't send in the Probe form yet. I just got back from a camping trip, so I'm a little hesitant about going again so soon. But it would be cool to do something with everyone. Heh I've been out of town for a while so I have no place to live still, and haven't called any of the ad sheet...

The Official UC Irvine Countdown Thread

What's up guys.. haven't posted in a while... So I just got a call from UCI today saying that they would accept me there if I still want to go, and I have to let them know by Monday. Up until today I was planning to just go to USC. I had already settled my financial aid and enrolled for...

The Official UC Irvine Countdown Thread

Well I called UCI to find out my status since I haven't heard anything since being told I was on hold back in January. They told me that I have been moved to the alternate list, "in the lower half" (sounds familiar... if you followed the UCSD thread :(). Anyway, they apparently didn't tell you...
