Failing out of med school, and trying to get back In.

They let you take it three times. I remember a dean--at orientation--say something like if you take a twice and don't pass you need to find another career ... I guess my school is a little harsh.

COMP Class of 2008 part 01

My COMPanion said neuro is hard, but not nearly as hard as taking micro, biochem and pharm all at the same time. I hope that is true ...

    Nhsc??

The fees and books are based on a list your school submits to the NHSC. It includes all required books and fees. So yes you can pocket the extra money from buying online and used books. I'm not sure about the extra scxholarship money, if it is small, like $500 from a local medical society...

    DO schools curriculum and COMLEX

I am a first year at COMP and I know that we have about 4 wks off between the 2nd year and the COMLEX. I am positive that UMDNJ-SOM has approximately the same. I believe NYCOM has 4-6 wks, if I remember correctly. This is definitely a question worth asking on your interviews.

    NHSC Scholarship Questions

The scholarship is pretty competitive, I don't remember the exact number they are posted somewhere here but I don't remember. It's definitely more competitive than getting into med school. The application does not take and academic or financial info into account. It is based on this...

    Nycom

Yes, NYCOM takes a while. I was not invited to interview until late Feb. of last year, for an interview date of early April and was accepted four weeks later ... So don't ever try to read too much into this crazy process. Good Luck to you all! :D

    Slackin off Senior Year?

I completely slacked of last semester as well. I received my first acceptance in October. First semester I didn't intentionally slack off, but it was just so hard to study when I was getting ready to go to Boston, New York, and Philadelphia. Oh well ... second semester I just was...

    UMDMJ interview

I interviewed there last year in the first week of October. After your interview you can go back to the waiting area of the admissions office and wait until 11am. Then they show you a video about UMDNJ. Before that I looked at all the reading materials they have around the office. I also...
