About the School

Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine (Noorda-COM) is a private, for-profit medical school located in Provo, Utah. Established in 2019, it is the third medical school in the state and the second dedicated to osteopathic medicine. The college received accreditation approval in July 2020 and welcomed its inaugural class in 2021. In 2025, Noorda-COM celebrated its first commencement, marking a significant milestone in its mission to train competent and compassionate osteopathic physicians.

Curriculum

Noorda-COM offers a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree, with an innovative curriculum that emphasizes early clinical experiences and a student-centric approach. The program includes "learning pods," custom-designed study rooms where students engage with pre-recorded lectures and collaborative learning. Clinical exposure begins early, with opportunities such as graded Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), participation in local health fairs, and involvement in community outreach programs like "Kaufusi's Keikis," which provides health screenings to underserved elementary-aged children.

Facilities

The college's 30-acre campus in south Provo features a four-story, 140,000-square-foot academic building equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. These include 70 learning pods, a simulation center, 18 OSCE rooms, custom-made anatomy and osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) labs, a library, and various study spaces. The campus also houses the Noorda-COM Health Clinic, offering primary care and osteopathic manipulative medicine services to the community, while serving as a training ground for students.

Demographics

In 2023, Noorda-COM welcomed its third cohort, comprising over 190 students—the largest medical student class in Utah's history. Of these, 67 students have ties to Utah, and 56 graduated from Utah higher education institutions. The class includes 34 students with master's degrees, 19 former student-athletes, and individuals who collectively speak 52 different languages. The gender distribution is 42% female and 58% male, with 18% from underrepresented minority groups and 35 first-generation college students.
