Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS), established in 1973, is a public medical institution located in Norfolk, Virginia. As of July 1, 2024, EVMS became part of the Macon and Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University, integrating its programs and resources with the larger university system. The Sentara Center for Simulation and Immersive Learning offers 16 clinical exam rooms, six group skills rooms simulating various clinical environments, an immersive virtual environment, observation suites, and advanced audiovisual capabilities for training and assessment. The campus includes several key buildings: Lewis Hall (primary education and research facility), Edward E. Brickell Medical Sciences Library, Hofheimer Hall (clinical departments), and the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine. Waitzer Hall, a 138,000-square-foot facility, serves M1, M2, and master’s students, providing modern classrooms and administrative offices.
