About the School
Established in 1966, LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine is the sole allopathic medical school in North Louisiana. It forms part of the LSU Health Shreveport academic health sciences center, which also includes the School of Graduate Studies and the School of Allied Health Professions. Curriculum
The LSUHS School of Medicine offers a four-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) program that integrates basic and clinical sciences through a curriculum designed to promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The pre-clerkship phase employs active learning methods and an interdisciplinary, organ-based systems approach, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge in practical clinical scenarios. Facilities
LSU Health Shreveport provides medical students with access to advanced professional training environments.
