About the School
The Université de Sherbrooke's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is a French-language institution located in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. It is the only medical faculty in Quebec situated on the same campus as its affiliated university hospital center, fostering a unique environment for medical education and research. Curriculum
The MD program is structured into pre-clinical and clinical phases. Clinical skills training, including physical examination techniques and patient communication, is also emphasized. The clinical phase involves core rotations in internal medicine, general surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, family medicine, and emergency medicine, supplemented by elective rotations and training in professionalism, ethics, and evidence-based medicine.
Facilities
The Health Campus houses the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences alongside its affiliated university hospital center, the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke (CHUS). This integration facilitates collaboration between academic and clinical settings. The campus also includes research centers such as the Sherbrooke Molecular Imaging Centre, the Centre de recherche Mère-Enfant, the Pharmacology Institute of Sherbrooke, and the Cancer Research Institute within the Pavilion of Applied Research on Cancer. Additionally, the campus features the Jardin Zen 7, a garden with fruit trees and medicinal plants, enhancing the environment for students and staff.
