About the School

The University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine, established in 1955, is the sole medical school in Saskatchewan, Canada. Located in Saskatoon, it offers a comprehensive range of programs, including undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, graduate studies, and physical therapy. Curriculum

The Doctor of Medicine (MD) program spans four years, divided into two years of pre-clerkship and two years of clerkship. The pre-clerkship phase focuses on foundational medical sciences and clinical skills, while the clerkship phase provides hands-on clinical experience across various specialties. In 2014–2015, the college implemented a 2+2 curriculum structure to enhance integration of curricular themes.

The college's primary campus is situated in the Health Sciences Building at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, featuring the Leslie and Irene Dubé Health Sciences Library, classrooms, meeting rooms, and the Clinical Learning Resource Centre, which includes skill labs, examination rooms, and simulation labs.

As of the 2023–24 academic year, the College of Medicine has over 2,300 learners, including 407 medical students, 1,060 biomedical students, 258 MSc and PhD students, 521 residents, and 132 Master of Physical Therapy students. The college employs more than 2,200 faculty members across 17 departments and two divisions. Additionally, the college has trained over 2,000 residents since 1986 and boasts more than 6,000 alumni in 19 countries.
