About the School
The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University, located in London, Ontario, Canada, was established in 1881 as the medical school and expanded in 1964 with the addition of the dental school. The two schools merged in 1997 to form the current institution. The school offers a range of programs, including the Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), Bachelor of Medical Sciences (BMSc), and various graduate degrees. It operates two campuses: the main campus in London and a satellite campus in Windsor, both delivering the same curriculum.
Curriculum
The MD program spans four years, beginning with two years of pre-clerkship, followed by a rotating clerkship year, and concluding with a final year focused on integration and consolidation through electives tailored to the student's chosen specialty. The DDS program is also a four-year curriculum designed to equip graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills for general practice, specialty training, or academic careers. Additionally, the school offers Canada's first accredited Qualifying Program for Internationally Trained Dentists, as well as postgraduate programs in Clinical Orthodontics.
Facilities
