Actionable Feedback Policy

Commitment to Transparency

SDN Review values the perspectives of our readers, contributors, and the broader health professional community. We believe that high-quality publishing requires open communication, responsiveness to concerns, and accountability to the public.

1. Feedback We Welcome

We encourage feedback on any aspect of our publication, including:

  • Accuracy: Potential errors, omissions, or unclear statements.
  • Fairness: Perceived bias, lack of balance, or misrepresentation.
  • Ethics: Concerns about conflicts of interest, plagiarism, or professional conduct.
  • Accessibility: Suggestions to improve readability, inclusivity, or usability.
  • General comments: Reader perspectives on topics, scope, or editorial practices.

2. How Feedback Can Be Submitted

  • Email: Direct correspondence to [email protected]
  • Web Form: An online feedback form available through the SDN Forums
  • Public Comment: In cases where comment functions are enabled, readers may raise questions or concerns directly on articles.

3. Our Process for Handling Feedback

  • Acknowledgment: Feedback is acknowledged within 5 business days.
  • Assessment: The editorial team evaluates the feedback for relevance and seriousness.
  • Action:
    • If feedback identifies a factual error → handled under our Corrections Policy.
    • If feedback raises ethical or professional concerns → investigated following COPE flowcharts for handling complaints.
    • If feedback provides suggestions (not corrections) → considered during editorial board discussions.
  • Response: Where appropriate, the editor will provide a written reply to the individual or a public editorial note.

4. Engagement With the Public

  • SDN Review may publish Editorial Notes summarizing recurring feedback trends and how we responded.
  • We host open calls for topics annually, allowing readers to influence the journal’s coverage.
  • Community members may be invited to participate in focus groups or surveys to improve the journal’s scope and accessibility.

5. Transparency Principles

  • Accountability: All substantive feedback is logged and tracked internally.
  • Openness: Correction notices, retractions, and responses to feedback are published openly and permanently.
  • Respect: Feedback is reviewed in good faith. Abusive or non-constructive submissions may be disregarded, but will not prevent valid concerns from being addressed.

6. Contact

Feedback may be submitted at any time to [email protected]. Anonymous feedback is accepted, though we may be limited in how we respond.
