Are there any summer research internships/co-ops for white undergrads (or ones they let whites into)? All the ones I've read about are for minorities only (usually in capital letters).

My point is that for things to be truly fair, you shouldnt be able to have URM's ONLY or WHITES ONLY or MEN ONLY.
I just dont see the difference in the discrimination. To me to discriminate is to discriminate.

before this precipitates to another circular debate, to the OP, no, you dont have to be a minority to get a summer internship. check just about every 40 major research university and they will have a summer internship program (emory's was pretty good). government agencies such as NIH, or the CDC , have plenty of great summer experiences open to everyone. search, and ye shall find

work at pharmaceuticals like merck reserach labs, pfizer, smithkline etc... is open to whoever is best for the job. the salaries are incredbile, and so is the experience - take a look there - its for anyone.
