About the School
Lamar University's Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program, established in 2005, offers a comprehensive education in audiology, preparing students for diverse professional settings such as private clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, public schools, and rehabilitation centers. Curriculum
The Au.D. curriculum spans four years, integrating academic coursework, research, and extensive clinical practice. The first three years focus on foundational and advanced topics, including evidence-based practices, hearing aid technology, acoustics, psychoacoustics, cochlear implants, and practice management. Clinical experiences commence in the first semester, progressing from on-campus practicum to off-campus placements, culminating in a full-time externship during the fourth year.

Additionally, the program collaborates with over 20 off-campus sites, including hospitals, schools, and private practices across Beaumont, Houston, San Antonio, Lake Charles, Shreveport, and Biloxi, providing diverse clinical training opportunities.
