About the School
The Northeast Ohio Au.D. Consortium (NOAC) is a collaborative Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program jointly administered by The University of Akron and Kent State University, in affiliation with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. This partnership combines the academic and clinical strengths of both universities with the extensive clinical resources of the Cleveland Clinic to provide a comprehensive education in audiology. Students can apply through either university, and upon acceptance, they become NOAC students, progressing through a unified curriculum designed to prepare them for professional practice in audiology.
Curriculum
The NOAC curriculum is a continuous 45-month post-baccalaureate course of study that integrates classroom instruction, laboratory work, and clinical experiences. The program emphasizes the principles and practices underlying the evaluation, treatment, and management of hearing and balance disorders. Students are required to complete a minimum of 120 semester credits, accrue 2,000 clock hours of clinical experience, and pass competency-based examinations to meet the requirements for Ohio licensure in audiology.
