About the School

The Medical/Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program is a collaborative effort of faculty in the Department of Psychology and throughout the UAB Health System. Along with the traditional domains of clinical psychology—psychopathology, psychotherapy, and assessment in children and adults—our program specializes in medically relevant areas such as health psychology and behavioral medicine, pediatric psychology, neuropsychology, rehabilitation, geropsychology, substance abuse, and health disparities. Academic courses, research, and clinical practice are sequentially organized and integrated, and all major program elements include training in understanding and addressing mental and physical health concerns across diverse groups.
