About the School

The University of Cincinnati Department of Psychology trains doctoral-level researchers, primarily in the areas of health psychology, behavioral and human factors, and neuropsychology. Additionally, prospective students with interests outside these areas may apply for admission if their interests correspond closely to those of at least one faculty member.

Students are admitted to the program to work with a specific faculty mentor. Mentors are responsible for ensuring students are actively engaged in research from the beginning of graduate school and that this work leads successfully to a dissertation. Our goal is to train students to compete effectively for positions in a broad variety of settings. We provide extensive professional development opportunities during doctoral training.
