I hate when they page you without looking at the patient or manually checking the BP to confirm their nursing assistant's findings. It is sad that so many ******ed people are being recruited into nursing. It is even more sad that they are being paid more than you. Critical care is becoming...
Carilion: Really liked the hospital. Roanoke is a bit boring. Was surprised when I interviewed there that a majority of the interviewees were FMGs. Didn't expect it to be the only program in the country to go unmatched. Program director seems cool (very business oriented). Didn't fall too...
Last year I ranked all 15 of the 15 programs I interviewed with. I hated two of those programs but ranked them anyway. I failed to match, so I wouldn't say there is a "safe" number.
This year I interviewed with 18 programs and will rank 17. :luck:
I can't believe I will have to be an...
I was fairly thin when I started this mess and am currently wasting away. At least you had some body mass to give at the onset.
I never doubted this as a career choice until this year. My hope is that it is just the intern experience. Seems s#!t always rolls downhill. People at the top...
After not matching last year, I didn't know how programs would view me. So, I applied to ... drumroll please ... 54 programs  :scared:  !! What was I thinking?!? I've had 16 interview offers and only one rejection. :luck: I only have 3 weeks during which to interview, so I'm going...
My understanding is that you are not considered in state for admission purposes (if from Escambia or Santa Rosa counties), but are considered in state for tuition purposes. Hope this helps. Good luck to all.
 The dry spell has ended. Was beginning to worry there.
Best of luck this year, imtiaz. Nobody should have to repeat their intern year, as it is aweful. We'll be better surgeons for having done it, though. At least that is what I'm telling myself to get me through this...
How are those who didn't match doing this year in the application cycle? I remember getting an interview two days after submitting my application last year and having them trickle in at a very steady rate. This year, I applied to many more programs than I did last year. I've only received...
They screen people with the Step I score. I was told by the secretary that you must have at least a 220 to be considered.
The interview day was very different from most. There is no social, and the actual interview day was very short. I have no idea how they feel they can get to know...
I've heard of schools that will only allow MDs or DOs to hood their graduates (parents must hold one of these degrees to participate). My school does not have such a rule, and parents are allowed to hood with or without an MD/DO. Is this typical? Being the first person in my family to earn a...
I'm surprised that I interviewed with 5 of the 8 who matched at UT Memphis. I don't know what to make of that program. Thought I might be there next year... Oh well.
I know that Emory has posted pictures of its new residents. Interviewed with several of them too. It's pretty cool to see...
